Can non-UK Nationals be covered?

Either the bride or the groom must be a permanent UK resident or citizen.

My wedding ceremony and reception are on different dates. Can I have full cover for both?

Yes, so long as the gap between your wedding ceremony and reception is no more than 21 days. If it is, you'll need to contact us for a tailored quote.

Will cover be given for any services previously arranged or deposits already paid for when I take out my policy?

Yes, anything already booked or paid for will be fully covered.

Who exactly is covered under the "Personal Liability" section of my policy?

The bride and groom are both covered under the Personal Liability section of the policy, as is anyone who is responsible for the main cost of the wedding or wedding services.

Can you cover my wedding if it is taking place overseas?

Yes we can, but you have to have adequate travel insurance in place to cover the entire trip.

Will my honeymoon also be covered under the Greenbee scheme?

No, unfortunately not. We recommend that you take out our separate Travel Insurance policy to be fully covered for your honeymoon. Wedding Insurance only covers your actual wedding.

Can I take out the Marquee cover on its own?

No, it must be purchased in conjunction with one of the main levels of wedding insurance cover. Marquee cover cannot be purchased in isolation. It must be purchased in conjunction with Level One, Two or Three for Event.

Will the couple be covered if one or both of them decides not to get married?

Sorry no, this would be classed as "disinclination to marry" and is not covered under the policy.

How long prior to my wedding should I take out a wedding insurance policy?

You really need to take out a Wedding Insurance policy as soon as you've paid for any part of the wedding, so that the deposits you've paid are covered.

Is the wedding cake covered?

Yes, it's covered under our cancellation or rearrangement sections of the policy, and also under our photography section.

If any of my suppliers or service providers become bankrupt, insolvent or go into liquidation, will I be covered?

Yes, the policy will cover you under the Failure of Suppliers section for this eventuality.

Would the policy be able to provide cover for other occasions, such as anniversary parties?

No, the wedding insurance scheme is only available for weddings. Greenbee Event Insurance would provide the separate cover you need.

If neither the bride nor groom are taking out the policy, must it be a close relative who does?

The insurance policy must be taken out by someone who has an insurable interest, such as the bride, the groom or the person who is paying the main cost of the wedding. It doesn't have to be a close relative.
